There is no single, precise definition, as there are different meanings in drug control law, government regulations, medicine, and colloquial usage. In pharmacology, a drug is "a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being." Drugs may be prescribed for a limited duration, or on a regular basis for chronic disorders. Recreational drugs are chemical substances that affect the central nervous system, such as opioids or hallucinogens. They may be used for perceived beneficial effects on perception, consciousness, personality, and behavior. Some drugs can cause addiction and habituation. Drugs are usually distinguished from endogenous biochemicals by being introduced from outside the organism. For example, insulin is a hormone that is synthesized in the body; it is called a hormone when it is synthesized by the pancreas inside the body, but if it is introduced into the body from outside, it is called a drug. Many natural substances such as beers, wines, and some mushrooms, blur the line between food and drugs, as when ingested they affect the functioning of both mind and body. From Wikipedia under the

I was wondering, and can't seem to find the answer elsewhere, what the drug/chemical they used to euthanize her. They used a sedative first, but the actual drug that stopped her function was purple in color. Anyone know what it is? I'd like to think it was painless, but I'd like to do my own research! It could be any of the following; Sodium Pentothal, Phenabarbitol or Demerol. They will slowly stop the heart beat. The sedative is given to avoid any waking up of the dog, or any pain it may get. Mostly the drugs won't make your dog have pain at all, but the dog may suddenly wake up and see you there and afterwards run around and cause itself some pain. This is why the sedative is given. I'm so sorry about your loss, you can't imagine how sad it is to have a life in your hands, that you know you will have to put down. I also need the contacts to various support groups and community services that can help with quitting addiction, for example Kids Help Line (the contacts of which I also need). What are some good contacts, try Church and seeking Christ. Kids obviously give into peer pressures, make a strong connection with your kids. Parents actually who spend time with their kids develop a strong bond and will be able to tell if there is anything going on. Also monitor who their friends are. Once you have done that you have set the foundation for a solid friendship. But also remember you have to be a parent too. Q. If it is made legal even just for medical purposes people who are afraid to use marijuana because it is illegal, and use prescription drugs for many different ailments will now try it and find out it works for a wide range of things. Will the drug companies now become pot farmers? If they already already haven't started to in projection of legalization. Asked by Dennis Gulflongliner - Mon Dec 1 07:35:36 2008 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. Drug companies do not want marijuana legalized as they have not found a way to profit from marijuana. They have synthesized a prescription drug containing synthetic THC called dronabinol (marketed under the name Marinol). Unfortunately this drug has been shown to be medically inferior to the natural cannabis plant. Researchers have found that synergy plays a major role in this phenomena. This is the reason that any plant with medicinal value is more effective in herbal extract form than it is in synthesized drug form. In fact, hundreds of prescription pharmaceuticals are derived from plants. They are usually created by isolating the sole active ingredient and leaving out all other chemicals. As it turns out, research has shown that most… [cont.] Answered by OG#3 - Sun Dec 7 04:48:38 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Drug" ContentsSourcedCocaine
