In the most general sense, a model is anything used in any way to represent anything else. Some models are physical objects, for instance, a toy model which may be assembled, and may even be made to work like the object it represents. However a conceptual model, may only be drawn on paper, described in words, or imagined in the mind. They are used to help us know and understand the subject matter they represent.

Type and scope of conceptual models

Conceptual models range in type from the more concrete, such as the mental image of a familiar physical object, to the formal generality and abstractness of mathematical models which do not appear to the mind as an image. Conceptual models also range in terms of the scope of the subject matter that they are taken to represent. A model may, for instance, represent a single thing (e.g. the Statue of Liberty), whole classes of things (e.g. the electron), and even very vast domains of subject matter such as the physical universe. The variety and scope of conceptual models is due to the variety of purposes had by the people using them.

Metaphysical models

A metaphysical model is a type of conceptual model which is distinguished from other conceptual models by its proposed scope. A metaphysical model intends to represent reality in the broadest possible way that applies to all situations that could arise.

I'm looking for a certain pair of Converse-Chuck Taylor?
Q. I saw them in Liechtenstein(not sure if the right name),while I was traveling abroad. They were absolutely gorgeous, but they didn't have my size,so I'm gonna describe them to see if you can help me finding them. The body colour was grey, tongue and heel were rose shadow. On the outside body they had an abstract model, like flowers and some lines and circles...I'm telling you, they were gorgeous! I am still sad about them, because they didn't have my size. Do you happen to know these shoes? Do you have a picture? Do you know any site I can order them from?? Thanks in advance thanks thanks thanks... P.S: I wear size 36-37

A. You would first need to draw your ideas on paper and give it detail. If you have an idea that you feel can make you money in the future you will need to take this to a patent office. That way no one can steal the idea from you and use it to make money. To get a patent in the U.S. you will have to pay money to protect your idea. Then the patent office will often give you advice as to where to go in the area for help in making your sample product. Remember all of this costs money. I went for a U.S. patent a few years ago and I used a lawyer that specialized in this. I live in Minnesota and It cost me about ten thousand to start to get the patent through the process, get someone to produce the idea if necessary, and any costs that were… [cont.]

Tacky or not??????? Please help!?
Q. For my room I want to fill a large empty wall with pics of models from magazines, abstract images, and some of my own artwork. Would this seem tacky or is it ok...?

A. That depends on your mom, especially if its not your house but hers and she makes the payments.. or your dad does or its a rental. I suggest if you wish to surprise her and not get her permission first that you improvise by making colages on poster board or foam board and then putting them up with that putty that comes off walls so easy. If the whole board you use is full of the images you don't have to color or cover any of it because the pics will do that but if you need a background you can get discount wall paper from stores that sell it or you can do a painting on the back ground and use a sponge to create some splotches or anything like that will make a neat backdrop look for the pics. But I wouldn't do the walls themselves… [cont.]
